Boost Your Energy

Energy is vital to life. Germaine Greer, the Australian writer wrote,  “Energy is the power that drives every human being. It is not lost by exertion but maintained by it.”

Go to your nearest store and you will see all sorts of energy boosting supplements.

Here are some ways you can boost your energy.

1. Get enough good sleep.

Quantity and quality matter. Lack of sleep, disrupted sleep, and irregular sleep patterns have a terrible effect on energy levels, creativity, mental alertness, general wellbeing and health. People who sleep badly at night tend to be cranky most of the time and lack the ability to focus on task at hand..

Go to bed when you are sleepy and get up at the same time every morning. If you got not enough sleep one night, you will feel drowsy earlier and get more sleep the next night. If you are full of energy and aren’t exhausted, you may need somewhat less sleep hours.

2. Eat Well

t’s better to eat small meals and snacks every few hours than three large meals a day. This approach can reduce your perception of fatigue because your brain needs a steady supply of nutrients.

Eating foods with a low glycemic index — whose sugars are absorbed slowly — may help you avoid the lag in energy that typically occurs after eating quickly absorbed sugars or refined starches. Foods with a low glycemic index include whole grains, high-fiber vegetables, nuts, and healthy oils such as olive oil. In general, high-carbohydrate foods have the highest glycemic indexes. Proteins and fats have glycemic indexes that are close to zero.

3. Exercise

Is it any wonder that getting up and moving is an energy booster?  During physical activity neurotransmitters called endorphins are released into your blood stream. These chemicals give you a feeling of happiness, promote positive emotions, and contribute to a sense of well-being

4. Tidy –up your physical

Cluttered, disorganized and unpleasant surroundings at home and in te workplace  can drain us of more energy than we realize.. Just being in a cluttered room makes a person tired. A cluttered environment tends to clutter your mind.

Clean your clutter and organize your environment. Give everything a storage place. Throw out items you no longer need or love. Some areas you might consider giving a clean-up: work-place, home, wardrobe, computer.

5. Thread Lightly On Earth

We spend a lot of time and energy trying to control everything that goes on around us: events, people and situations. Some people feel an urge to fix every problem that comes up but it is impossible to create a perfect world. When they fail, stress follows

Stress-induced emotions consume huge amounts of energy. Talking with a friend or relative, joining a support group, or seeing a psychotherapist can all help diffuse stress. Relaxation therapies like meditation, self-hypnosis, yoga, and tai chi are also effective tools for reducing stress.

6. Let go of resentments and anger.

Resentment drags you down and keeps you grasped by your past. In most cases where resentment takes place, the only person who suffers is the victim of the incident. Let go.

Anger can be a powerful destructive force. It drains your energy and makes you waste your time in negative thinking.

When you start to get angry, distract your mind. Stop following the thought process. You are not your thoughts.

7. Control your finances

Living beyond your means is tiring. Trying to keep up with co-workers and friends who have a larger financial resource than you will certainly create financial trouble.

Have a budget and stick to it. If you do not know how to do this, you get a competent financial advisor, for a fee,  to help you.

Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.

8. Mind your own business.

There are too many things to read, to talk about, to think. There are too many people with too many opinions. You just do your thing. Do not waste your energy and time on things that does not concern you. Keep yourself productive with your business.

Do not be addicted to news. Do not be concerned about others opinion on you. Live your life the way you see fit and keep away from negativity in all its form and shape.
